Android 8.0 is officially "Oreo", set to roll out to devices soon

Google Inc revealed today the next version of Android, which is version 8 will be called Android Oreo. The company launched Android Oreo via a live stream, side by side while the solar eclipse was taken form.

Origin of the name

Google affirms that the name ‘Oreo’ has been licensed from Nabisco - a partnered company.

However, Google is known for partnering with companies in branding its Android name. Recall, Android 4.4 was called KitKat, through that partnership we saw Android-branded KitKat bars in stores all around the world. Who’s looking forward to Oreo boxes with Android branding?
