MTN Agrees To Pay $1.7bn Fine In 3 Years

MTN Nigeria has agreed to pay the $1.7 billion (N300 bn) fine the Federal government slammed on it following their failure to deactivate 5.1 million unregistered sim cards. In a statement released today June 10th, the company said the fine will be paid within a space of 3 years.
“MTN Nigeria has agreed to pay a total cash amount of 330 billion Naira over three years” the statement read.
