FlexPai - the foldable smartphone finally debut

Shenzhen and Silicon Valley based startup, Royole has announced the arrival of the FlexPai - a foldable screen smartphone.

The device, supposedly to roll out mid december, however, made its way to the market prior to the date scheduled. 

Royole [@royoleofficial], founded in 2012, is the first to achieve the industry’s long-standing goal of delivering a foldable screen — beating even the massive Samsung to market.

At an event in Shenzhen, CEO Bill Liu told TechCrunch; "being first isn’t always a blessing in this industry, but it’s an impressive feat, nonetheless." 

“We started the company with a focus on the flexible displays and sensors. And then along the way, we realized this could be a huge application for the technology.” 

The device is expected to commence shipping next month with a premium price at $1,300.
