Facebook showed off its election security war room

Facebook has unveiled its election war room. The purpose of the office is to serve as a central base for monitoring disinformation and responding promptly to possible election interference in the upcoming US, mid-term elections.

Things to take point of;

1. The office is located in Facebook HQ in Menlo Park.
2. Monitors are places on the wall, mainly to track and display information like voters suppression while FB will search to find out what is going on
3. The room has 24 desks, with qualified people to make split-second decisions as reports/cases are filtering in to avoid unnecessary delays.
According to Samidh Chakrabarti - Director, Facebook's Product Management; which focus on Facebook's civic engagement products says, "the war room is a culmination of two years of hard work, we have put in all across the company and we have made massive investments, both in people and technology to make sure that our platforms are safe and secure for elections. In the last year alone, we have actually increased the size of our safety and security team, from 10,000 people to 20,000 people. And that really allowed us to make investments, in cracking down on fake accounts."
Meanwhile, the US mid-term election day is November 6.

It wouldn't be a bad idea for Facebook to create and implement a security election war room in Nigeria towards next year general elections.

Kindly share your thoughts about the physical room of Facebook's election war room?
