Google Is Finally Silencing Chrome Apps By 2018

Google Inc. is ditching support for Chrome apps by 2018 on Windows, Mac, and Linux over the next two years.  The announcement was conveyed on Friday via its blog.

The Chrome apps were initially developed for a younger Web purpose by developers who barely had advanced tools capable of working for offline products or notifications features, Google said.

The process is expected to begin during the second half of 2017, finally ending the support by 2018. Hence, developers are advised to transfer their current Chrome apps to the web.
