This Netherlands-Based Nigerian Developer Is Building TeeBot, A Foldable 3D Printer In A Suitcase

A Netherlands-based Nigerian developer named Emmanuel Adetutu is building a foldable 3D printer in a suitcase that claims to produce quality 3D prints on the go.

The project, which is currently on Kickstarter and expected to be funded by June 12, has successfully reached and surpassed its funding goal of $5,000. As at the time of writing this post, it had 19 backers who altogether pledged $6,981 with 27 days to go.

According to Adetutu, he started working on the TeeBot 3D printer after he needed a 3D printer he could travel with and take around everywhere, without compromising the print quality.

After a lot of design iterations and multiple prototypes, TeeBotMax was released as open-source which got a huge response from users around the world. “I kept working on the design and finally the result is a simple, foldable 3D printer in a suitcase that produce quality 3D prints in the suitcase”, he says.

Adetutu developed TeeBot and the TeeBotMax open-source 3D printers alongside Paul Lammerts, a maker and DIY enthusiast, who is supporting the project with his electronics, firmware and cabling skills.

TeeBot is essentially for 3D printing enthusiasts who are always on the move.
