Three Construction Workers From Pakistan And india Kidnapped In President Jonathan’s Local Govt Area


Unknown gunmen have kidnapped three expatriates working for a construction company in Ogbia local government council in Bayelsa State. President Goodluck Jonathan hails from the area.

According to SaharaReporters, two eyewitnesses confirmed that the expatriates were seized at Emakalakala town in Ogbia local council area, a few miles from the construction company’s base. The sources said two of the victims, Muntaz Ahmad and Ghatar Abdul are nationals of Pakistan while a third victim, Sririri Rao is an Indian man, the source added that the victims were employees of the construction firm, Elmerit.

“They were kidnapped at gunpoint,” one source told SaharaReporters. He added that the abducted men were working on road projects in the area. “They were then dragged into a waiting boat which sped away into the surrounding creeks,” the source added.  

When our correspondent contacted a security agent in the state, the security source said he was not in a position yet to confirm the kidnap. “I have heard something, but we cannot confirm until we receive a formal report that this happened,” said the source.
