German World Cup winner, Mesut Ozil was sued by his own father, Mustafa Ozil after dismissing him as the managing director of his marketing company Özil Marketing GmbH in 2013.

Mustafa Ozil, who played an essential part in his son’s transfer deal from Real Madrid to Arsenal last year, filed a complaint for a loss of earnings totalling €630,000 (£493,000) but Ozil’s company responded with a counter claim, demanding repayment of a loan in the region of 1m euros and the return of a company car from Ozil senior.

After refusing to pay back the loan, the Gunners star reached a final settlement with his dad and he won’t be involved in the company dealings anymore. According to Daily Mail, the former Real Madrid midfielder has replaced his father with his brother, Mutlu Ozil.

Mesut Ozil started his senior career at Schalke 04 in 2006 before moving to Werden Bermen in 2008 and then Real Madrid 2010. He made the move to Arsenal in a deal worth £42.5m.
