Johnny Depp slurs and swears his way through presenting at the Hollywood Film Awards

Johnny Depp was a little worse for wear as he stumbled his way on to the stage at the 18th Annual Hollywood Film Festival on Friday night.

The 51-year-old was really struggling as he attempted to present the documentary award for Supermensch: The Legend of Shep Gordon, which was directed by Mike Myers.

The Edward Scissorhands star appeared to be confused as to where to go as he walked out on stage and, once he found where, was even more confused.

Bemused with the double microphone, Johnny said: 'That's the weirdest microphone I ever saw in my life.'

Trying to adjust the stand, the actor and the contraption almost went tumbling, much to the bemusement of the celebrity packed crowd, especially music manager Shep Gordon, who laughed away in his seat.

Fortunately, producers quickly bleeped out the rude word.

Covering his mouth to try to take the swear word back, Johnny then started laughing.

'I mean it's one of those nights.'

Johnny - who has 'Wino Forever' tattooed on his arm - had previously quit drinking after finding out that he and alcohol got along 'maybe too well'.

He told Rolling Stone in December that he had not had a drink for a year and a half.
'I just decided that I pretty much got everything I could get out of it.
