Who knew flinging birds across a screen could be such a huge battery suck? Angry Birds, an all-time favorite among mobile gamers, has the fourth-highest background battery drain rate (185 megawatts) on App Monitor's list of the most popular Android games.
Android batteries aren't the only ones suffering from Angry Birds. On a MacRumors.com message board, user TheGarreth says when he plays the game, the battery of his iOS device loses 10% every 25 to 30 minutes.
2. Candy Crush Saga

Pop-up advertising on free versions of apps like Candy Crush Saga can lead to serious battery drain on iOS and Android devices. Verizon lists the addictive game as a "high-risk Android app," and states that an untouched device running the app will drain the battery 3.2 times faster than usual.
In addition, the game ranks 10th on a list of battery-draining Android apps by KS Mobile, the developers of the Battery Doctor app.
3. Jewels Star

With its sophisticated 3D graphics, it's no wonder why Jewels Star has high levels of battery consumption. Compared to other popular Android games, App Monitor found that Jewels Star has the highest background battery drain rate of 344 megawatts.

4. Temple Run 2

Temple Run 2, a sequel to the original Temple Run, is free to download, but iOS and Android users have to pay for its excessive battery usage. With realistic visuals and action-packed obstacles, this running game comes in sixth place on KS Mobile's top 10 list of battery-draining Android apps.
5. Fruit Ninja

Fruit Ninja, which creator Halfbrick Studios dubbed "the greatest fruit-slicing game in the world," is another game that sucks up battery juice on iOS and Android devices. In KS Mobile's report on battery-draining Android apps, Fruit Ninja lands in ninth place.
